My Life....

Okay so I'm a great big slacker in the blogging department. It seems like lately I haven't had any time blogging or updating anything. So I'm going to try harder...

Our family in doing really well. We have been to two of Tessa's dance recitals, gym meet in Boise for Hailee, and celebrated Afton's 2nd birthday in Utah at Grandpa and Grandma Nelson's house. We have had too much fun at all these events. Our kids make us laugh on a daily basis, and we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves if we never had children.

Here is Afton when she was really little...and now my baby is 2yrs old!!

She had a great birthday with all of her cousins in Utah...We miss our cousins a lot!

Tessa LOVES dance. It was so fun to watch her dance and sing "Up on the Housetop." She was so animated and sung so loud for everyone to hear. She is so fun!

Our girls have been so much fun this year. I think Santa may be stopping by at our house:) I know that the girls are expecting him...so he better come through.

TREATS and more TREATS

This year we decided to go to our ward's Trunk or Treat. The girls were so excited to dress up and collect all the candy they could. I've decided I'm not a huge fan of Halloween. I don't like to dress up and all of the candy drives me crazy....but my kids love it so I guess that is what counts. We invited Thane, Simone and Drake to go with us. Our kids had so much fun that night. We decorated our trunk and so did a lot of others. Our kids wouldn't go inside a couple of trailers that were pretty SPOOKY! We made it home before it poured on us.
This summer Tracy decided to finally build the kids a swing set. It didn't get finished until Sept, so we only ordered two swings so far. Next summer we'll have a Glider, one more swing, and a big slide. It tore up the grass somewhat getting it in but that should all fill in. Do you think he built it high enough?

As Days Go By.....

Lately I have felt that I have no idea what day it is in the week. My life lately has been pretty hectic needless to say. It kinda feels like riding on a roller coaster and never getting off. I looked at Hailee the other day and thought, when did she get so grown up! I remember 6 yrs ago when she was born and the constant smile that was on my face. Tracy and I longed to have a child for so long and then finally we were blessed:) And not with just one child but 3. How did we get so lucky?? The girls have me busy busy with dance, school, gymnastics and the list goes on. Why do I do this to myself? Hailee really loves gymnastics and excels at it all the time. This is her second year in competition, and she gets so excited to go to a meet. This year we get to travel to Boise, Pocatello, and Coeur D Alene, ID. She is in 1st grade and she rides the bus home pretty much everyday. I thought I could shield my children forever about all the crap that goes on out there in the world...but I'm afraid not everyone thinks like me. She came home telling me a boy taught her some bad words, and wanted to know what they meant. OH NO!!! NOT YET ALREADY! I thought those things happen maybe in the 3rd or 4Th grade. See how naive I am:) My girls keep me laughing all of the time with the silly and funny things they say. Afton our almost 2 yr old, is constantly telling me when she goes poop, but won't have anything to do with the potty! She says "poop mommy" I then say, "Let's be a big girl and go in the big potty" she say, "No mom, you mean!" I'm afraid it might be awhile till I get her out of diapers....I feel as I get older the days pass by faster and faster each year. I hope that I am not to busy in my life to count my blessings! I hope to not take one day for granted, especially while my children are young. They are not young forever....and eventually I'll be dealing with teenagers in about 5-6 more yrs! Then maybe I will want the days to go by fast!!!

Get A Way Trip

Me and the girls decided we wanted to get a way for the weekend, so we headed to SLC to visit family. Hailee was out of school on Friday, so we left Friday morning to go stay with my sister JoRae. We had so much FUN! On the way to SLC the drive was pretty scenic with all the the leaves changing. I LOVE fall weather! I did get tired of hearing the statements, "Are we in Utah yet?" or "Are we there yet." Good thing DVD players were invented or I might of had a nervous breakdown on the road:/ Anyway, JoRae lives in Herriman, and she was so kind to let us invade her house. I talked her into taking pictures of me and the girls, (Tracy couldn't make it) and she said yes. We went up Butterfield canyon and got some really good pics. Did I mention how talented she is! Thanks Jo!!!
Here are a few pictures she shot.

I love visiting my family. I miss them all of the time, so when I go to SLC we all get together and eat(Cheescake factory) and play games! We always have so much fun together. My girls always cry when they have to leave. I would love to live closer, but I highly doubt that will happen. Road trips are so much fun, even if you do have major lack of sleep!

WE DID IT!!!

I had so much fun this last week with my two sisters coming to Idaho to visit the Nebeker clan...Kim has 1 daughter and JoRae has 2 girls. So you can imagine what my house was like with 6 girls running around screaming and having so much fun! Poor Tracy was so outnumbered. Maybe that's why we didn't see much of him all weekend. I do have to say thanks to Tracy for staying home with all of the girls 6 and under so me and my sisters could go out to the movies. What a great guy! Olivia only got out of her bed 6 times (Jo, Tracy didn't tell us the whole truth...Ha!), and was high on Lora tab. Poor girl had her tonsils out right before she came. Saturday, Kim and I ran the Rim to Rim. It was a 7.5 mile run and pretty intense in parts. The first 2 miles was straight uphill on a steep grade, and then at the end it was uphill again:/ It was challenging, but so worth it! They provided us a great lunch afterwards, and the best part was our family waiting for us to finish! Running is such a stress reliever for me. I do enjoy it other than the shin splints that linger with me all of the time. My goal is to run a half marathon and then who knows...baby steps..I am so glad Kim ran it with me and we actually did it!!

This is the bridge between the two rims..beautiful!

Lost Tooth....

So Hailee has been wanting to lose a tooth so bad for so long. Last year in Kindergarten she would come home and tell me what friends had a loose tooth. She would keep tabs on them and let me know when they would lose the "tooth". But poor Hailee didn't have a loose tooth or one even close to becoming loose. Every night before bed she would say, "Mom would you please check to see if any of my teeth are loose yet?" and that became our nightly ritual for about 9mo. Then finally she had a loose tooth, oh but wait....she has 3 loose teeth at once! And was she ever excited, so for about 2 or 3 more months she would wiggle and play with her teeth constantly. It actually became annoying because she always had her fingers in her mouth. About 2 wks ago right after school started I decided I was going to pull out the tooth. The funny thing is the tooth that was really loose was her top front one, not the bottom. Doesn't make sense in the dental professional world, but really what in my life makes sense! Ha! Back to the story.. I pulled and grabbed and she wouldn't let me pull it out. so I told her while we were camping over Labor Day it was coming out. Long story short her wonderful Aunt JoRae decided she would take on the duty of being the dentist and yank that tooth right out.. and she did! Thank you JoRae for finally getting that stinking tooth out! Now Hailee feels like she fits in more so at school because she has lost a tooth. Boy she has no idea that there are harder things in life than not loosing a tooth. She makes me smile....

The Little Mommy.....

Today was a busy day rushing around, taking kids to school, picking up kids, and taking kids to gymnastics, and then me running etc... So then night time rolls around and I am so tired I don't want to brush my kids teeth or get them ready for bed. Can anyone relate? So my 4 yr old Tessa who likes to help mom out sometimes decides she is going to change Afton's diaper and get her into her pj's. I came upstairs to see what they were doing and I found Tessa helping Afton get ready for bed. Tessa is such a little mommy. She LOVES dolls, and everything that goes along playing with dolls. She still thinks she doesn't have enough dolls. She cracks me up! She is such a hugger, kisser, and nurturer. She will be a great mommy one day......

Carpet, Carpet, and more Carpet....

Okay so it has taken me 6yrs to put new carpet in our house! Can I just say how much I love love it. It is so soft and lovely! :) Anyway, let me tell you how much of a chore it was to move everything around so they could lay the carpet. It took 3 days for them to get the carpet in, and longer for us to to get everything back into place. I do have to say it was great to go through things and get rid of a lot of stuff. The girls are hilarious with laying on the carpet and saying "Oh how soft." I know I should of done it a long time ago, but now I have and we really love it!

This is the old carpet...pretty boring and blah!

Tah Duh! This is our new carpet! We carpeted the whole house except for the kitchen, dining area, bathrooms, laundry room, and storage room.

Utah Trip

So my boss decided last minute that he wanted to take all of his employee's and families to Lagoon. We of course said "Yes!" couldn't pass that one up. My sister Kim and her daughter Grace met us there. We all had a blast despite the hot....very hot weather of 103 degrees. My kids didn't mind a bit, they were to busy having fun and riding on whatever ride would let them on. Afton wouldn't get off "Bulgy the Whale." I could of left her there and she wouldn't of minded one bit!

We also went to Echo Lake and camped with my sisters. We all had so much fun...wake boarding, building in the sand, skiing, knee boarding, and tubing. Thank you Mike, Kim, and JoRae for using all of your fun toys!

What Was I Thinking?

So starting this spring I thought it might be fun to start running a couple 5K races. I must be crazy or something because I never ran track in high school, and now I enjoy running. My sister Kim got me going and we ran the race for the cure in May. That was fun. Then I decided I would do another 5k on the 4Th of July in 100 degree temp! What was I thinking! And now it has become a little addicting for me now, so I decided to run a 10k over the 24Th of July in Oakley Id. As I was running straight up along the reservoir for 1 1/2miles I kept telling myself, " And you enjoy this?", it was a challenge but worth it. In Sept my sister Kim is going to come to Twin Falls and run 7.5 miles the "Rim to Rim" with me! Yeah!! I guess you could say it is a stress reliever for me, and I do enjoy it.

Twin Falls Temple

We finally have a temple in Twin Falls, Idaho. My mom and dad came up from SLC to visit and we went to the open house together. It's always fun to have family come and see us. Our girls were so excited to finally be able to go inside. Tessa our 4 yr old says, "We get to go where the angel Moroni lives." She makes us laugh a lot. We had to watch Afton our 20mo old closely as we toured, she really wanted to go for a swim in the baptisimal font. Hailee our 6 yr old is such a great older sister!
